Tips for Saturday 21st August

Hi Guys,

And another successful week at York with an 11.75 pts profit to level stakes. To be honest I am pretty dissapointed with the overall result but a profit is a profit and we keep on an upward trend.

As you know i only focus on true value and today we have just 5 selections which i feel give us a chance to make a bit more overall profit and a chance to get a big priced winner in the 3.10 at Sandown.

So lets crack on

3.10 Sandown HUYGENS 40/1 EW and RAMONA CHASE 33/1 EW

Huygens won a handicap off 84 on only its fourth start and was then raised to 93 where it has remained for the last few runs 93,93, 92 and has run respectably. However today the horse is running off a mark of 90 and therefore has been given a chance by the handicapper and 40/1 is the wrong price with ageneral offer of between 25s and 33s with most Bookmakers.

Ramona Chase has to be one of the most frustrating racehorses to train with undoubted ability but maybe a quirk or two. However this former 95 rated winner has shown a return to form recently and can be expected to put up a decent show at the price of 33/1

3.45 Sandown

ROCKET ROB 6/1 WIN looks great value today and the deciding factor to go WIN instead of safe EW is the booking of Frankie Dettori. The horse has run up a string of consistent and somewhat unlucky efforts but looks solid value today.

2.50 Chester

LADY ECLAIR 9/1 EW is dropping down in trip after two runs over much longer but this should not inconvenience the horse too much. I think we can expect different tactics from the Mark Johnstone trained horse today with a front running role adopted and trying to make the race a true test of stamina.

3.25 Chester

SOMETHING 16/1 EW looks in with a sound shout having been given a good pitch in stall 4. This strong travelling horse should have the speed to get a good pitch before launching a late run in the straight. Being only two pounds higher for it’s win at Epsom and actually lower that its top placed form off higher marks at Ascot and York means that this horse is still realtively well handicapped.

3.40 Ripon

CLOSE TO THE EDGE 40/1 (As low as 14/1 with Coral) this two year old has run two sound races to date with the up in trip looking to be a key here. The form of its first run in a class 3 seems to be working out very well and will be an unfanced runner from a smaller yard but very interesting to be pitched in here and looks a bit of value

Good Luck Guys

Richard

Day 4 Tips – York Ebor Meeting

Hi Guys,

Well to be honest I am a bit dissapointed as this is the first meeting in the last four we have covered where we are not going into the last day with a guaranteed profit……..well you cannot have it all the time.

However the good news is we wont be losing anything as we are still 10.75 points profit up on the week and today will only be betting 10 of those points. So lets look at today.

RACE 1 BOWDLERS MAGIC 20/1 EW

Earlier in the week I put up Anhar in a race, and unfortunately the horse missed the break but still ran well and it is the form line with Anhar which leads me to our selection. Since winning off a mark of 84 the horse has been upped in grade and lowered in trip and today see’s it stepping back up in trip and it this which leads me to put this up as the value. We also have the benefit of Keiran Fallon on board who is riding out of his skin this week.

RACE 2 RIO DE LA PLATA 9/1 WIN

With the fav Rainbow Peak sure to go off around 6/4 then we look elsewhere for our value and this once highly touted horse is the one we side with. On official ratings the selection is only rated a pound lower than Rainbow Peak but of course has won off 120 in the past and with Godolphin being ultra patient with the horse then they could see that rewarded today.

RACE 3 TREADWELL 11/1 EW

Jamie Osbournes horse was well punted last time up in higher grade and although a bit dissapointing just could not land a blow without being given too hard a race. The return to York where the horse finished 2nd earlier in the season and a return to 7 furlongs look sure to play to the horses strengths and given that the horse’s profile is highly progressive looks like it will be value.

RACE 4 DINKUM DIAMOND 33/1 EW (Bet 365 1/4 1-2-3)

THis is a fascinating renewal of the Nunthorpe and today I cannot see StarspangledBanner winning as it is dropping in trip and I feel Equiano will have his measure. However if the handicapper has got his ratings correct then the 1-2 should fall between the 2 year olds. Both are rated 101 which based on the performance of Approve earlier this week looks spot on and with Equiano rated 120 then the 2 year olds have 19lbs to find but of course are receiving weight all round…..24lbs from the top rated so really these two are 5lbs well in.

I know you cannot take that literally but with Kingsgate Native having won as a 2 year old then i see no reason why the same cannot happen here.

The form between our selection and Stone of Folca with the last mentioned beating our selection by a length at Ascot, however Dinkum Diamond never really travelled that day and yet still managed to be beaten only over 3 lengths and considering the weight of money this was expected to perform much better and I can see it turning round the form with Stone of Folca. I just think Corals are out on a limb at 33/1

RACE 5 EL MUQBIL 5/2 WIN

Richard Hills has chosen our selection and after running a race full of promise at HQ on debut under a very tender ride i think we will see a markedly improved performance. It is up against a Godolphin newcomer that has been made fav and i see no reason why our selection cannot come out on top in what looks a very winnable Class 2 maiden.

RACE 6 COSMIC SUN 12/1 EW

With Richard Fahey’s horses continuing to impress he could possibly win this race with one of his three entries and it is interesting he has 5lb claimer Lee Topliss on our selection. Cosmic Sun ran a sound race last time over a trip patently too short and with the jockey taking off the 5lbs plus strong course form we look set for a good run.

All the best

Richard

Day 3 Tips – York Ebor Meeting

Hi Guys,

After a nice day yesterday with 2 juicy 10/1 winners and a 15 point profit here we go with Day 3 of the York Ebor meeting and if your quick you can grab 25/1 Remotelinx and 33/1 Classic Colori

RACE 1 REMOTELINX 25/1 EW looks sure to improve for the step up to 6 furlongs for the first time having done aal its best running late. last time finished behind Temple Meads which ran a very creditable race in yesterday’s Gimcrack and with the winner Approve (our selection yesterday) proving that his rating of 107 was very much spot on then through the line with Temple Meads then Remotelinx looks way overproced.

RACE 2 RIMTH 10/1 WIN This first time out winner has been held back after it’s win at Windsor and today could see that patience rewarded for the horses trainer Paul Cole. The form of the horse’s win has been very well franked by the placed horses with the second, third and fourth running well and with a form line with the fifth horse home in that race (Swiss Dream) then Rimth can be expected to improve and would be closely matched with the favourite Maqaasid. The other bonus is the step up to 6 furlongs which looks sure to be right up this fillies street

RACE 3 CLASSIC COLORI 33/1 EW This 3 year old from Tom Dascombe’s yard is still very unexposed after just 6 runs and last time out would definately have been out of his depth against much more experienced rivals and finishing 9th of 9 runners beaten 8 lengths was probably not such a bad run. The trip of a mile today looks sure to suit as the horse is a strong finisher over 7 furlongs. Officially rated 99 the horse has won a Class 1 off of 95 and on the basis of the handicap has a minimum of 4lb in hand of it’s nearest rival so looks very fairly handicapped.

RACE 4 SNOW FAIRY 100/30 WIN This years classic winning filly must have an outstanding chance with the 3 year olds haveing a great record in the race. Also taking into account that the horses winning time in the Irish Oaks compared to Sariska is way quicker and with the weight allowance this looks a solid win bet.

RACE 5 HONIMIERE 10/1 EW looks to have a sound each way shout in a race where there is little solid form to go on. The danger will definately be the John Oxx trained Zarebiya but at the respective prices our selection looks solid frame material.

RACE 6 SINGEUR 25/1 EW and CONFESSIONAL 18/1 EW are two horses that look well handicapped to beat the likely favourite Perfect Blossom. We’ll start with Confessional who was beaten 1 3/4 lengths by Perfect Blossom 2 runs back giving that rival 3lbs and today Perfect Blossom has to give 2lbs so in fact is 5lbs worse off which means our selection should make a race of it and we have the added benefit of Confessional being in fine consistent form. The reason I have gone for Singeur is that the horse has a form line which gives it the beating of Confessional as well as having a very good record at York. Confessional beat Singeur by 2 lengths in receipt of 15lbs and today Singeur is only conceding 9lbs so is 6lbs better off for that 2 length beating. All in all these two look decent value against Perfect Blossom.

Day 2 Tips – York Ebor Meeting

Hi Guys,

Here we go with Tips for Day 2 of the Ebor meeting at York

RACE 1 ANHAR 10/1 EW

Anhar looks to have been found a nice opportunity to prove that his mark of 100 is well judged. Looking at the form he certainly looks capable of winning a race off 96 and that really should put him in here at top weight so must have a sound chance. Add to that the the good form of the Godolphin horses and this looks value.

Anhar beat a horse called Bowdlers Magic a few runs back giving that rival 12 lbs and a 1 1/4 length beating.
Bowdlers Magic had previously won off a mark of 81 and then subsequently went on to win off a mark of 84 which really means that Anhar should be capable of winning of 96. This should really mean that Anhar should be carrying Top weight here so we think this looks great value

RACE 2 ILLUSTRIOUS BLUE 6/1 WIN

Illustrious Blue looks to be an improving stayer and at the weights must have a sound chance of edging out King of Wands and Opinion Poll. Last time they met King of Wands won the race by 3/4 of a length from our selection with Opinion Poll a further 3/4 of a length back in third.

Illustrios blue gave Opinion Poll 2lbs so no reason why that should turn round the form with only a pound further pull. However the selection gave King of Wands 5 lbs so must be able to turn round the form based on the fact today he is only conceding that horse 3lbs.

This will be tight but at the respective prices Illustrious Blue Stands out as the Value.

RACE 3 APPROVE 10/1 EW

This is a cracking contest and I believe that our selection still has more to offer after just a respectable
effort last time out. For me the form line is the race at Epsom where Approve finished ahead of Casual Glimpse and behind Dubawi Gold (Last two mentioned not handling the track)

The horse did not get a run that day and would have gone close to winning. Even so would definately have beaten the two previously mentioned horses and as Casual Glimpse is trading at 4/1 and Approve at 10/1 the value is in our selection.

RACE 4 NANTON 33/1 EW

This brings us the Ebor and last years 4th Nanton must have a really decent opportunity of getting in the money again. After fantastic efforts in the Cambridgshire and Cesarewitch last season the handicapper has had to raise the horses mark and this season the trainer has had no option but to run the horse in much tougher company rather than lumping around 10st marks and not having a chance of winning.

However the encouragement comes from the fact that the handicapper has dropped the horse 1lb in the last couple of runs and the horse has a 7lb Claimer (Paul Norton) who looks a very capable if inexperienced pilot.

This means the horse is only 1lb above its last winning mark and with the step back up in trip sure to suit we can expect Nanton to give us a great run at a big price.

RACE 6 CONCILIATORY 10/1 EW

Nestled down at the bottom of the Handicap our selection races of a mark of 75 and looking at the way in which it has been finishing it’s races is sure to be a difficult horse to give a mark to. The form of it’s 3 runs (Improved each time) are solid with others coming out and franking the form albeit in a Class 4 and Class 5 maidens.

Good Luck Guys

Day 1 Tips – York Ebor Meeting

Hi Guys, and back today for the start of the York Meeting with tips from The Longshot King.

Since we have been giving our selections our level stakes profit is up to 152.75 pts after just seven meetings and again we expect to give you guys some niced priced winners over the next 5 days.

From tomorrow I will no longer begiving the tips on the blog but on a new site www.longshotking.com and to get those you will need to register an name and email address which will give you a 14 day trial before we go to a paid service.

So here we go for Day 1 of The Ebor Meeting

RACE 5 MAGIC STELLA 33/1 EW (only available with Ladbokes 28/1 generally)
RACE 6 SIRVINO 12/1 EW

I do fancy the 33/1 shot Magic Stella who is as low as 16/1 with some bookmakers. Looks like this is very fairly treated after finishing second in a Class 2 last time beaten a little over a length and beaten by Chilworth Lad earlier in the season by 3 lengths. Chilworth Lad franked the form with a fine 2nd on Saturday and i believe this one should be a 12/1 shot so great value at the 33/1.

Glorious Goodwood Tips – Day 5

Hi Guys, so we manged to get another winner yesterday in Perfect Blossom which returned at 15/2 and unlucky with our Win bet on Sri Putra which finished second. However yesterday was our third losing day on the trot with a loss od 0.5 pts.

So going into the last day we are +9pts in profit which to be honest I am disappointed with, as for the last three meetings we have been going into the last day in a guaranteed profit situation.

Well we cant have it all ways. Anyway today I have one which i think is massively well handicapped in the Stewards Cup and could well have been laid out for the race………..

So here we go with Day 5

Race 1 ROXY FLYER at 25/1 EW
Race 2 NO BET
Race 3 NO BET
Race 4 IVER BRIDGE LAD 50/1 EW
I cannot understand how this horse is carrying the same weight as other horses rated 99 when it is rated 104.

This horse is really well in at the weights. last time finished 16th of 20 at York after being drawn badly and missing the break, however ran well to get into contention 2 furlongs out before the Jockey accepted it could not win and let the horse come home in its own time.

Just a few runs back finshed 2nd of 20 behind Victor De Lyphar running of a mark of 101 which franked the form yesterday running 2nd to Joseph Henry.

This has to be a very well handicapped horse and at 50/1 is great value

Race 5 NO BET
Race 6 WITH HINDSIGHT 22/1 EW
Race 7 BAYLINI 14/1 EW

Good Luck

Race 3 BEAUCHAMP XERXES at 50/1 EW

Glorious Goodwood Tips – Day 2

Hi,

And yesterday we had a cracking good start to Glorious Goodwood with 2 winners 14/1 and 8/1 and a 12/1 advised EW. Our two other WIN only bets finished 2nd and 3rd and then were a little unlucky with our main longshot which finished 5th at 33/1 when 4th would have got us in the money.

However a nice profit on Day 1 of 23.5 pts to level stakes and it sets us up nicely for the rest of the week.

So here we go with tips for Day 2.

Race 1 AMBROSE PRINCESS at 22/1 EW
Race 2 CHILWORTH LAD http://www.royalascotblog.com/wp-admin/post-new.phpat 11/1 EW
Race 3 NO BET
Race 4 ISABELLA GEM at 28/1 EW
Race 5 NO BET
Race 6 SEASONAL CROSS at 9/2 WIN
Race 7 COASTING at 8/1 WIN

So another couple of big prices here and hopefully we can make it another profitable day.

All the best
