Royal Ascot Dates – Top Races

Looking forward to The Golden Jubilee Stakes
Royal Ascot week for 2010 will be taking place between the 15th June to the 19th June at ascot Racecourse in Berkshire. During the five days race visitors will be able to see some of the highest class and most competitive racing of the British Flat season.

On Day 1 the highlights of the card include The Kings Stand Stakes which is for the blistering speedsters over 5 furlongs and this is one leg of the Global Sprint Challenge where we should see the likes of Equiana and Kingsgate Native locking horns again. The feature race of Day 1 is the St James Palace Stakes which looks to hold avery strong field including this years 2000 Guineas winner Makfi.

Moving onto Day 2 and well see another classy days racing with the highlight being the Group 1 Princer of Wales stakes and Aiden O’brien will have high hopes of a 1-2 with Rip Van Winkle and Fame and Glory, especially with the latter in great early season form and now no Sea the Stars to contend with.

Rolling into Day 3 and it looks like all eyes will not be on the Ladies but on the young three year old fillies and as i write this it will be interesting if Henry Cecils Aviate will be coming here unbeaten and aclassic winner after taking in the Oaks at Epsom. Of course we cannot get away from the Gold Cup and my hope is just to see Kasbah Bliss take his chance and prove what a top class flat horse he is as well as being one of the best staying hurdlers.

Onto Friday and Day 4 brings with it the buzz of the weekend but in racing terms it means the excitement generated by the renewing of rivalries between Special Duty and Jaqueline Quest……can Cecil’s filly get revenge for the disqualification she suffered in the 1000 Guineas………all will be revealed.

Finally Day 5 brings down the final curtain on the week and everybody will be looking forward to the Golden Jubilee stakes over six furlongs and hopefully the winner is the horse in the picture above “Fleeting Spirit”

All the best
